Hi Aaron,
the MPMC model is more of a show-case of combining LBM with different EoS, even with ones for component mixtures and is therefore lacking appropriate boundary conditions which could be implemented by a user if really needed. It is only useful though, if you want to track moisture in the gas and dissolved gas in the liquid. You could also assume both phases as constant mixtures and model the two-phase dam break with a phase field model capable of density ratios (next release) or a single-component EoS with pseudo-potential model.
