airfoil2d example case diverges after some time steps

Dear OpenLB developers and users.

I am glad that OpenLB-1.8 includes key features for external flow such as local refinement and airfoil2d example.

I have conducted several simulations for internal flow using OpenLB while my major interesting is external flow.

So, I am playing with the airfoil2d example case while it diverges after 50% time steps are passed with the default set-up.

Is it intended or something missed?

Hello,

We have not added the fringe zone at the outlet. This is only an example of turbulent flow with an airfoil indicator and wall model. More advanced setups will be introduced in the next release.

with the default setup the simulation diverges, this is not unintended. The angle of attack is to high and the airfoil stalls. Try to play around with the simulation parameters, mainly the angle and the airfoil profile and you should see that with a lower angle and/or a different airfoil the simulation does not diverge.

After I set 0-degree AoA, the simulation runs without any problems.
