    Dear all

I am currently planniing to conduct a simulation of oil leakage from a buried pipeline, focusing on the diffusion behavior of the oil within the surrounding soil.

Can I perform this simulation using OpenLB’s porous media model without having detailed pore structure scans of the soil? I only have access to macroscopic properties like porosity and permeability.

Is it possible to use velocity grids in combination with scalar grids alongside the porous media model to simulate the transport and diffusion of the oil through the soil?

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Yes, such porous media simulations are possible using the models within OpenLB. Additionally, any individual lattice (targeting a particular PDE) is easily coupled to other lattices / PDEs.
