    Dear Community,
I intend to simulate a two-component, two-phase immiscible flow in a porous medium using OpenLB. After reading some comments and searching for the relevant keywords, I realized that there are still challenges for two-phase problems with relatively high viscosity ratios (around 10-100). Is it possible to perform this simulation by making some modifications in OpenLB? Which example is the closest one considering the mentioned challenge?
I appreciate everyone’s help in advance.

    Hi Amirmansour,

considering your project, the closest example would be something like the fourRollMill2d or binaryShearFlow2d in the multiComponent folder. It already includes boundaries and uses a phase field free energy model to describe the immiscible flow. The model is not implemented with density or viscosity ratio, but you could implement a viscosity ratio yourself depending on the order parameter.
Or you could wait a few weeks for the next release of OpenLB that will provide more advanced phase field models that can deal with high density and viscosity ratios.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Tim
