Air-Water simulation question

As I was reading up on the implementation of multiple components in the OpenLB user guide, I read “The approach taken in OpenLB is similar to that given in [52] and assumes equal densities and viscosities for each of the fluids”. Does this mean that multicomponent systems are hard locked into having both components of the same density, and it therefore can’t simulate air and water together?
I appreciate any help.There are several Chan-Hillard and Shan-Chen LBM models implemented. The latter for two-component and two-phase. The can all be adapted and extended. In the frtamework of a common project we are happy to help!
