    Hello,

I was wondering if it’s possible for SC LBM implemented in OpenLB to capture Contact Angle, something similar to Example contactAngle2D or contactAngle3D where this phenomenon was simulated using Free-energy-based LBM.

    Thanks,
    Mehrdad

    Dear Mehrdad,

I guess it is (technical it is) but I have never done it myself.

    Hi Mathias,

Many thanks for your kind response.

We have addFreeEnergyWallBoundary function for Free-energy-based LBM. For SC LBM, the interaction between the fluids is captured by Cohesive and Repulsive forces. It would be great if we could consider the interactions between the solid boundary and the fluids as well (I mean Adhesive force). Then, we would be able to see the phenomenon.

    Kind Regards,
    Mehrdad

That would be interesting, I agree. Please, go ahead and implement. We are happy to include it in the next OpenLB release! Best Mathias

    Hi Mathias,

    Many thanks.
Yes, that’s a good idea. I’ll go for it.

    Kind Regards,
    Mehrdad
