I been trying to use OpenLB recently, and got this sports car case to run.
Its about 2 million voxels. Does anyone know how to run a case at realistic
conditions? eg length scale 1m, velocity 20m/sec, density 1.2, Re=1.2 million
For LES and that high Re you would need much more resolution, 200 million and more which is no problem on a cluster of CPU or a few GPUs. Further a wall funtion might be reuqired.
Hi Mathias, that is very useful and interesting to know.
what I was wondering is what settings are required to get it to just run
since when I increase the velocity to say 10 m/sec it crashed, so expect
that have to change some solver settings for higher speeds? Thank Giles.
There is a chapter on stability criteria in the bock of Krüger et al. on LBM. We also have a lecture on in at our spring school. About the usuage of turbulent modells in OpenLB you can check out the nozzle3d example.
